iPhone 2.2 Software Release - And the Enhancements Are ?

Apple has announced its newest Software Update for the iPhone and the iPhone 3G this past Fridaym November 21st.  As soon as we received word our staff at  installed it  and got to testing the new features

 

Map Enhancements:


·         Google Street View for a virtual walking tour of the places you have searched out

·         Public transportation information with estimated travel times and fare rates - Killer for travelers in a foreign city.  Estimated cab fares are huge help in not getting ripped off.

·         Walking directions are now available –Urbanites Rejoice !

·         Location sharing via email - Great for tracking down lost friends or traveling with friends

·         Google Push Pins now have addresses associated with them - The perfect too to plot a sight seeing course

 

Phone Call Enhancements:


·         Improvement of dropped call and call failure - Hard to test but we will keep our fingers crossed

·         Improved sound quality on Visual Voicemail messages - Once again hard to tell if there was an improvement in this area as the quality was always fairly high


Email Enhancements:


·         Auto correction typing can now be disabled in Keyboard Settings - Perfect for users that write slang or with jargon in their emails or text messages.

·         Resolved issues with the scheduling of fetching emails

·         Improved formatting of HTML emails


We will continue to test the new features and fixes so please check back for update

 

Need to download the latest version ?  Please make sure your updated to the latest version of iTunes and it is as simple as attaching your iPhone and clicking “Check for Update” and then downloading the latest version.  The entire process takes about 15 minutes to complete.
