The OtterBox iPhone 3G Defender Case is in stock and shipping!  Our customers that pre-ordered will receive the first shipment but no worries we have plenty in stock and ship daily.  Currently, only Black cases are shipping out as the other colors will not become available until the end of September at best. Soon the iPhone 3G cases will be available in the following colors; white, black/yellow, and pink.  Please check out blog on the status of these new colors as we will post all updates here first.

This new OtterBox Defender Series iPhone 3G Case has many improvements versus the original OtterBox Defender Case.   The multiple layers are still built into the case which provide maximum protection but still a slim design which makes it perfect for daily use.  The hard polycarbonate skeleton with built in screen protector is then surrounded by a heavy duty silicone overwrap.  Many in the industry say this case is an iPhone case on steriods as it is the only case on the market that offers a ultra high level of protection combined with full use of the Apple iPhone.   The Defender Case provides protection against daily hazards such as bumps, drops and scratches .   The touch screen, volume control, camera and with the new case the silence mode switch is available.  Keep in mind, this case is water resistant NOT waterproof and it should not be submerged at anytime.





The new design seems more rugged and compact mostly due to the slight design changes in the iPhone itself.  The curved back of the iPhone 3G.  The curve of the phone makes a bit more gripable plus once the iPhone is in its holster it fits better and tighter to the hip.  I find the curved edges do not dig into my side and get caught up less when moving through tight places.

The new holster design is a more lightweight design but do not let that fool you.  One of the best features has ns to be one of the simplest improvements on the holster.  The oversize ported speaker holes on the the bottom of the holster line up with phone's speakers and provide much better volume then in the past.   The new holster also boasts a new locking system that seems to have a double attaching system.  Once your iPhone 3G is locked into place its not going anywhere.


The improved holster gives an added feature of a build in "kick stand" .  Just open your belt clip to the widest setting and it will click into place and hold your iPhone upright in the holster.  Combine this with the ability to put your iPhone in face up and you have something you can leave on your desk while you work.  Never miss a call or text message again.
